How To Make Our Websites More Appealing?

When we build a website, we want it to leave people dazzled and entirely wide-eyed. Attractive website elements don’t need to include plenty of graphical details. Too much complexity could cause the website to load very slowly. It shouldn’t be a challenge to have a simple and attractive design that still allows quick loading time. Some web designers want to achieve great design, but they do this by causing the code to bloat out of proportion. Some people may also not know that a simple graphics optimization can significantly reduce the size of JPG files, without causing visual degradation. There are many design elements that can be achieved using only CSS code. As an example, we can create boxes with rounded corners using CSS code. CSS is a common type of technology and it is compatible with many web browsers.

It doesn’t require a high level programming skill and the overall syntax should be quite easy to understand. We could have an option whether we want to use the image in its entirety or we want to slice it into smaller portions. During web design project, our level of creativity is tested and we should know how to improve it. When our design is ready, we should know whether it is necessary to further improve it. Everything we do at this stage may have an overall effect to our design. Regardless of what we do, the overall outcome should be clearly positive and this should be a relatively easy thing to achieve.

Post-design editing should be performed if we find that there are a few imperfections that we can remove. As an example, there are slices of the images that we can further improve with different color selections. When dealing with a large slice, we should know that it may have a more profound effect on the overall design. It is a common mistake among many web designers that it they consider it necessary to make big changes after the project is completed. It is easy to have second opinion about our own design and we want to make specific changes. However, we should know whether the change would really benefit our website. There are a number of optimization techniques that we can do to ensure better results. As an example, we don’t always have to use JPG images.

While it is not acceptable to use BMP files due to their bloated file size, GIF files can be useful for simpler graphics elements. Other than having a small size, GIF files are also resistant against visual degradation, when the quality is reduced. We should know that for every 1KB that we reduce on each image, we could potentially save many megabytes of data, if we have moderate to high traffic. CSS2 is also known for its image optimization capability. However, this task may require a higher degree of programming and not all web designers are able to achieve that. However, we should still be able to differentiate our website from others.
