Get Ready For Your Next Wedding Season

If you’re like me, you’ve been there before: it’s time for a major wedding for a friend or family member, and you don’t quite feel ready for it. Maybe you’re not quite as in shape as you’d like to be, or maybe you haven’t found that perfect outfit yet. Perhaps you just feel you aren’t looking your best, or maybe you just still haven’t quite figured out how to conduct yourself at weddings! There’s nothing wrong with these thoughts. Wedding season is a lot of fun, but let’s face it, weddings are bizarre, unique events. There’s a lot that goes into them, and it’s easy to feel like all eyes are on you (even if they’re absolutely not, unless you happen to be the one getting married).

That doesn’t change the fact that most of us would love to do our best at weddings though. You’d love to have a highlight moment on the dance floor, or to stand out in photos afterword. You might hope others will discuss how terrific your outfit was, or talk about how you were the life of the party. Well, ultimately all of that is up to you. But just for fun, I’m putting together a few tips on how to get ready to dominate your next wedding season.

Start Getting In Shape Now

If you’ve ever started a crash diet or an intense workout regimen in the weeks or month leading up to a wedding, you’re not alone. This is quite common. But it’s also unsustainable, and the fact remains that most physical changes from workout and nutrition efforts don’t become visible for at least several weeks. Thus, you should go ahead and get started now! At the time of this writing, the traditional wedding season is approaching its end, which means now is a perfect time to take a steadier and more productive approach. You can get into terrific shape by next spring and show up looking your best next time someone you know ties the knot.

Tweak Your Image

If you’d just like to show up at your next batch of weddings looking your best, consider a minor tweak to your image. That doesn’t mean a drastic change, and it doesn’t mean you need to do anything. But a few adjustments can be fun to experiment with. You may try a new hairstyle for instance, or look into ways to improve your smile. You might even plan a vacation a few weeks before wedding season starts so that you can get a little bit of a healthy tan going. There are endless options, but consider a little change like these to get that extra something in your look.

Go With Custom Clothing

If you’ve never had a tailored suit or specially made dress before, you may not be aware of just how much of a difference it can make. Customizing hems and fixing small imperfections is one thing, but getting a whole outfit tailored to your body can make you look better than you ever have in a formal outfit. This option might be a little bit easier for men, as made to measure suits have become trendier and are accessible online. But almost any outfit can be tailored to great effect, and it’s certainly an idea worth exploring.

Take Dancing Lessons

Nothing makes you stand out in a good way at a wedding quite like knowing what you’re doing on the dance floor. And even if you already have a strong foundation, a few dance lessons can always provide a nice boost. You’ll be ready to sweep onto the floor at your next wedding and have the best time possible. Nothing quite beats being able to fully dive into the music and atmosphere at a reception!

This is really about all it takes. If you look great, dress great, and dance well enough, you’ll have a great time and you’ll make a strong impression on your friends and family. It all makes wedding season even more enjoyable.
